Experience Royalty in a Luxurious Setting

Nawab Asia has already been entrenched in Punekar’s hearts for their North Indian cuisine so it was quite a surprise when they introduced Middle Eastern flavors as well, at their new outlet in Westin Hotel.

Nawab sports a gorgeous ambiance, giving the patrons a truly luxurious feel. Color me impressed.

I recently had the honor of being invited to cover the menu here and I came away satiated.

Signature Cocktails

The Blue Pea G&T had Greater Than Gin, Blue Pea Flower infused Triple Sec, Lime, and Tonic Water. While it sported some good theatre, it felt little too sour, which killed the other flavors. On the other hand, the Nawabi Yuzu Sour with Vodka, Elderflower Liqueur, Basil, and Lime was a better balanced drink.

The Nawab Kale and Avocado Salad was the perfect first dish coming in. Sporting fresh and bright colors, the salad was equally crunchy and creamy.

The Nawab Special Hummus turned out to be the star dish of the evening. The hummus had such a wonderfully rich and creamy texture which was complemented by the crunch of the pine nuts. I personally loved it so much, I ended up ordering another portion of it, just for myself. #YumYum #InsanelyDelicious #HighlyRecommended

The Middle Eastern Style Calamari had a lovely crunch and would be a perfect accompaniment to a chilled one. While the Mutton Galouti Kebab was absolutely melt-in-mouth with a punch of spice hitting the back of the throat. #DeliciousDelicious

The Ispanak Mantar was a Turkish delicacy made using spinach and cheese which was quite a good combination of flavors. The Zaa’tar Chicken Manakeesh was a pizza-esque offering with zaa’tar chicken and herb topping however the flavors felt lacking. And the base too could’ve been thinner.

While desserts are the best way to end a meal, unfortunately the desserts here at Nawab Asia were a bit of a letdown.

The Paan Ice Cream had too much gulkand which killed the betel leaf flavor while the Nawab’s Gulab Jamuns were way too sweet to be indulged in.

Having come up in place of the erstwhile legendary Arth Restaurant, Nawab had a seeming burden of expectations right off the bat, and it delivers on most counts.
